Break out of longstanding patterns and find relief in a new perspective with Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.

What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?

Ketamine is a legal, FDA-approved medication that, at low therapeutic doses, has been shown to support neuroplasticity – the brain’s ability to form new connections. This window of increased neuroplasticity can make it easier to access new perspectives, process difficult experiences, and break longstanding patterns, and KAP combines it with the depth and support of psychotherapy. It tends to work beautifully for people who have done the work and still feel stuck – adults living with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, or grief who are ready to try something deeper.

How Ketamine Works:

Ketamine works in the brain by blocking NMDA receptors (aka the brain’s primary neural pathway for stress) and boosting BDNF production, which helps to grow and strengthen new neural connections.

Forms new neural pathways

Repeated KAP sessions help the brain literally build new roads – replacing deeply worn patterns of depression, anxiety, or trauma response with healthier, more adaptive ones.

Loosens the grip of stuck parts

In IFS terms, ketamine helps protective parts relax their grip – allowing deeper, more vulnerable parts to be seen and heard during the therapeutic window.

Restores the default mode network

KAP helps recalibrate the brain’s Default Mode Network — the system linked to self-referential thinking and rumination — reducing the “stuck on myself” loop common in depression.

Integration anchors the change

The unmedicated integration session following KAP is where new insights get wired in. This is when the brain consolidates what it learned -turning moments of clarity into lasting shifts.

Rapid antidepressant effect

Unlike traditional antidepressants that take weeks, ketamine’s effect on mood can be felt within hours – offering relief to those who have struggled with treatment-resistant depression.

Cumulative benefit over sessions

Each session builds on the last. Six guided sessions create layered, compounding neuroplastic change – which is why a full KAP course produces deeper results than a single experience.

The Experience:

Marie is present throughout the ketamine experience to provide grounding and therapeutic support. Sessions include preparation, in-session therapeutic support, and integration. Integration sessions following the experience are a critical part of the process, helping clients make meaning of and build on what arose.

clients feel welcome and comfortable during all sessions

Who is KAP for:

Have tried traditional therapy or medication without finding sufficient relief

Are experiencing treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, or PTSD

Feel stuck in patterns they haven’t been able to shift through other approaches

KAP is not appropriate for everyone. Candidacy is determined through a thorough evaluation by our collaborating prescriber.

Safety:

Ketamine is a legal, FDA-approved medication that, at low therapeutic doses, has been shown to support neuroplasticity.

Ketamine is prescribed and dispensed by our collaborating medical prescriber, an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner.

While Marie is extensively trained in psychotherapy, we are not licensed to prescribe medication ourselves.

Clients self-administer ketamine troches (lozenges) that dissolve under the tongue, based on the therapeutic dosage prescribed by our collaborating prescriber.

All clients undergo a thorough medical and psychological screening prior to beginning KAP.

Sessions include preparation, in-session therapeutic support, and post-session integration.

FAQ:

How do I get started with KAP?

The first step is a free 30-minute consultation with Marie. You’ll talk through your history, goals, and whether KAP feels like the right fit. There’s no pressure and no commitment required.

A full course includes six guided medicine sessions, plus preparation and integration. We offer single-session courses ($600) and three-session courses ($2100) as well, but the six-session course ($4000) is our most recommended for lasting results.

Not currently. KAP is a cash-pay service. The cost covers your suitability assessment, preparation, all guided sessions, and integration. Your ketamine prescription (approx. $50) and prescriber visit (approx. $150) are separate.

Yes. Ketamine has been FDA approved since 1970 and is on the WHO’s list of essential medicines. When used in a clinical, therapeutic setting at appropriate doses, it has an excellent safety record. Your vitals are monitored before and after every session.

Not at all. Sublingual ketamine produces a gentle, manageable experience. You remain aware throughout – and your therapist is with you every single minute. Most people describe it as peaceful, not disorienting.

At a ketamine clinic, you receive the medication, and that’s largely it. In KAP, the self-administered medicine provided by our collaborating prescriber is one part of a full therapeutic arc that includes preparation, guided 4-hour medicine sessions, and integration. The therapy itself is what creates lasting change.
